DAY 1: Arrival in Fez
Pick up at Fez airport (Sais) and transfer to the Hotel or Riad.
DAY 2: Visit Fez
After breakfast we will visit Fez, a city that takes us back to the Middle Ages, which highlights its medieval Medina, with the Medersas (Islamic universities) of Attarine and Bou Anania, the Square and Fountain of Nejjarine, the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss and the Mosque of Karaouine. Lunch and afternoon visit to the souks. Overnight in Riad.
DAY 3: Fez – Ifrane – Midélt – Erfoud – Merzouga
The land becomes arid and full of spectacular geological formations and deep green valleys, such as the Ziz Valley. We will begin to see the typical adobe architecture, palm trees, some distant Kasbahs… we are at the gates of the desert. We arrive at the impressive Dunes of Merzouga and after the Hospitality Tea, we will leave the luggage in the rooms and climb the first dunes that are next to the lodge and take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunset. After dinner we will enjoy a small show of Berber music with drums and castanets. Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 4: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Nomads – Merzouga
We are already in the desert, After a hearty and rich breakfast, we will surround the Erg Chebbi, an extension of sandy desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, over 250 meters high, and connect by track with part of the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar and with the mountains bordering Algeria in the background.
Stop at the oasis of Tissardmin and follow route to a nomadic settlement where we will know some of the secrets of their life and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where we can see the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with a tea while enjoying a small concert of spiritual music of Gnawa. Return to the lodge, lunch and around 16:00h we will leave in a camel caravan to the Haimas camp (1h approximately) and, before arriving, we will enjoy the sunset and stretch our legs a little before reaching the haimas.
Upon arrival at the camp we will be offered a Hospitality tea, as usual, and before dinner we will take the opportunity to climb the big dune or simply to those near the camp and enjoy the peace and silence that the moment and the place offers us. We will sleep in the Haima under a blanket of stars in the heart of the desert.
DAY 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
We wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise. Return by dromedary to the Lodge, shower and breakfast, departure to Rissani, visit its market which is the most important of the south, where they go all the nomads of the desert to do their shopping then we leave for Erfoud where we will visit the factory of fossilized marble and continue to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. We will arrive at one of the highlights of the South: The Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra River has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a climber’s paradise and a unique place. Lunch on site and a half hour walk to see the Gorges at leisure. In the afternoon we continue to the Dades Valley passing through Boumalne. Dinner and overnight in the Dades Gorges.
DAY 6: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Skoura – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we climb to see the Gorges from above and return to the Valley of Dades and when we reach the Kasbah of Aït Youl where we turn right on a track that allows us to admire wild landscapes and less known, there we will visit a family living in caves still in the Valley of Boutagrar, We continue along the Valley of Roses to meet Kelaa M’ gouna. Lunch in the village, then continuation to the palm grove of Skoura, to arrive then in Ouarzazate.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.
DAY 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to the visit of Ouarzazate: kasbah of Taourirt, kasbah of Tifoultoute, film studios. Then departure to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). In this spectacular setting have been filmed films of such renown as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz or Jewel of the Nile, Lunch on site and travel to Marrakech via the highest port of Tizi N’ Tichka We visit the cooperative ARGAN Oil, where we discover the process of realization and we will explain the many benefits it has for the human body, Arrival in Marrakech about 18H Free time to discover the famous Jamaa el Fna Square Dinner there. Overnight in Riad.
DAY 8: Visit Marrakech
Breakfast. In the morning visit of the city in which highlights the Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, the impressive Kutubia Mosque with its famous Minaret built by the Almohads. Lunch and free afternoon to enjoy the charm of the Jamaa El Fna square, Accommodation in Riad.
DAY 9: Marrakech – Airport
Breakfast, Transfer to the airport and end of the trip.
