DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE:
Pick up by a guide of our team Travelers in Morocco, in your Riad or Airport. to start our trip 5 days in Morocco from Marrakech to Fez via the desert, we will leave towards the High Atlas, this mountain range has the highest altitudes in all of North Africa. In the highest elevations in winter and well into spring, you can enjoy the snow.
We will continue to the fortified city called Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987 and have made several famous films such as: Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, The Mummy … And we will arrive in Ouarzazate where the most important film studios in Morocco are located. Dinner and accommodation in Ouarzazate.
DAY 2: OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGES
After breakfast, we will dedicate the morning to see the film studios, where several movies have been filmed such as: Star Wars, The Mummy, Gladiator… Later we will leave for the Kasbah of Taourit, declared a World Heritage Site, full of towers and walls. The interior is a mixture of Islamic and Jewish religion. We will continue to the road of the Thousand Kasbash, through the great palm grove called Skoura, accompanied by hundreds of Kasbash that we can see along the way. We will enter the Dades Valley, being able to contemplate the hundreds of kasbash dotted along the route. We will follow the path of the river, entering the narrow valley. We will make a stop to enjoy it. Here you will have dinner and stay in a hotel.
DAY 3: DADES GORGES – TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
After breakfast we will leave for the Todra Gorges, passing through the great palm grove of Tinerhir, where agriculture, date palms, handicrafts… Later we will arrive at the gorges. There we can observe the spectacular scenery that for thousands of years has been forged by the river that runs through them. Then we will go to Merzouga, where you will leave your luggage at the lodge and go to the desert by camel. Once in the tents, you will have dinner, listen to the sound of the drums in the desert night and sleep in the Berber tent.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA – DUNES TOUR – KHAMLIA – DESERT
The next morning you will wake up early to watch the sunrise. At noon we will visit a nomad family. You will have lunch under the shade of a tree, you will see how the Berber pizza is made and then you will taste it.
After lunch you will rest for a while there, and later we will make a route through the desert. We will go to see an oasis in the middle of the desert in the 4×4, we will also visit the village of KHAMLIA (village of the blacks), the mines of MIFISS, the desert dishes, to meet the Berber nomads of the desert… Then you will return to the hotel.
DAY 5: DESERT – ZIZ VALLEY – CEDAR FOREST – FEZ
After the camel ride, a good shower and a good breakfast we head towards Fez. Crossing Errachidia and later we go to the Ziz Valley, we can see what the river has built over thousands of years eroding the rock and giving rise to large palm groves and adobe villages. Later we pass through Ifrane, where is the Cedar Forest, here we can see a lot of monkeys where we can feed them and enjoy the large number of cedars that gathers this forest.
